Coron salvaged wood crosses made from recycled American lumber.
Before the railroads. Before the wagon trains. Before Lewis and Clark, Spanish missionaries forged the American southwest, raising missions in the wilderness. A cross can be a sign of Christian devotion, a remembrance of Jesus Christ. It can also be folk art, hung as a reminder of history & tradition. The integrity of the materials & designs we choose speaks to our respect for both roles. We’ve visited the missions of the desert borderlands and California coast. From the array of mission era crosses we’ve seen, both rough & refined, this is our interpretation.
